Projects

We've been lucky to work with several clients. Here is a list of some of our favourite projects we've completed.

Euan and Heather have worked together and separately with the FEI on a variety of projects. Past projects include understanding risk factors affecting both horses and riders in international-level eventing and endurance. They have also worked on projects related to weather and climate safety for high-profile events such as the World Equestrian Games and Olympic Games, and on anti-doping projects.

Understanding risk factors affecting falls in British eventing was one of the foci of Heather’s PhD research, along with studying heart-rate variability in both horses and riders.

Heather and Euan were consulted on the analysis of free-text responses as part of a large-scale cost-of-living survey of horse owners in the UK, see results.
Their work shed light on the major themes emerging amongst over 8,000 individual responses.

Euan is on the steering group of the Bristol Cats project - the first-ever longitudinal study to follow domestic animals for life - and is currently working to analyse the data for the first nine years of the project.

Euan was consulted on a project investigating the spread of sarcoids (a type of skin tumour) among donkeys, with a data set which had been gathered over 40+ years. The results helped to understand how to reduce the spread of this contagious disease among donkeys at the sanctuary.
